2014 Lady Windermere’s Fan

Lady Windermere’s Fan
by Oscar Wilde
In the director’s chair for this presentation is Barbara Carr, who previously had a leading role in the hugely successful production of Brian Friel’s ‘Dancing at Lughnasa’ and last year directed the similarly successful ‘Cripple of Inishmaan’ by Martin McDonagh.
Lady Windermere’s Fan, the first of Wilde’s social comedies, is four-act play revolving around Lady Windermere’s 21st birthday.
Her husband is giving a ball in honour of the occasion and Lady Windermere, trusting and innocent, receives information that ‘poor, dear Windermere’ has been seeing another woman and has apparently set her up in style. At first, Lady Windermere does not believe the reports, but the seed of suspicion has been sown!
